The forest was dim, dark green and reddish brown. Mushrooms provided other colours; pink, deep red, yellow, black, cream, and pure white.

| Two different brittle-gills, Russula sp. |
 |
| Another of the pink Russulas. Slugs seem to love the white flesh. I hadn't seen the little black bud on the right; it's probably a Zeller's Bolete. |
 |
| A coral mushroom, Ramaria sp., maybe. |
 |
| Puffballs, edible at this stage, if you can beat the slugs to them. |
 |
| Boletus, Suillus lakei |
 |
| Zeller's Bolete, Xerocomellus sp. |
 |
Mushoom habitat; the ground was a thin coat of spongy, damp duff over rock. The trees were mostly cedar and Douglas-fir.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.
Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
