Here we are, halfway through Arachtober, when a bunch of us spider watchers from around the world post a daily spider photo to the Flickr group pool, and I still haven't mentioned it here. Partly because most of the photos that I've contributed so far have been ones I've shown here on the blog. But here's a group I've missed; tiny, tinier, tiniest spiders that have turned up inside the shade of my bedside lamp, or on the wall beside it.
Like these, all from the lampshade:
 |
| A few of a large group of spiderlings. I slept in a chair that night. |
 |
| Tiny cellar spider, Pholcus phalangioides, with her supper. |
 |
| On the outside of the shade. Not a spider, but an arachnid, a harvestman. |
 |
| This one was so small, all I could see was a dark speck. The camera sees better. |
 |
| Another cellar spider, showing off her black knees. |
 |
| And more of those babies. Good thing most of them don't grow up. |
Tomorrow I'll post some of the wall visitors.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.
Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
