Roots, just roots.

I noticed these tree roots at the bottom of Lupin Falls. Now, at the end of a dry summer, they're out of the splash zone; soon they will be within reach of the water again. A sort of once-yearly high tide/low tide cycle far from the ocean.

Fallen tree, well-washed. On the rocks at the foot of the falls.

Roots of a live tree clinging to the surface of the rocks. Wet season splashing keeps the soil at a minimum. Moss manages to hold on.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
