System of measurement

 And a few more mushrooms: these are smaller. Moss branches and Douglas fir needles serve as measuring sticks.

Nice pie-crust edges. The annual "steps" of the step moss are from 3 to 5 cm. long. (Up to 2 inches.) These mushroom caps are half that.

This one's quite a bit larger. Compare the step moss branches beside it.

So tiny, so fragile! Douglas fir needles are up to 3 cm. long.
