Housesitting perks.

House sparrow, Strathcona:

Sunning on a wire.

Hungry youngsters in the alley.

On a tiled roof; these gaps are often filled with nests, old and new.

And a bonus; a hungry young crow.

"Feed me, mommy!"

Not a chickadee unfortunately but a House Sparrow (Passer domesticus), introduced and wide spread. Paradoxically declining in its natural range in Europe.

  2. You're right. The bib was very dramatic, and confused us; most of our house sparrows are a bit more drab. But the beak size is the killer.

I changed the post to suit.

    Thanks!

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
