Not a chickadee unfortunately but a House Sparrow (Passer domesticus), introduced and wide spread. Paradoxically declining in its natural range in Europe.
You're right. The bib was very dramatic, and confused us; most of our house sparrows are a bit more drab. But the beak size is the killer.I changed the post to suit.Thanks!
