Spotlight

This was taken at the bottom of a heavily-wooded ravine;  one ray of sunlight somehow managed to get through the leaves.

Deer ferns and Bracken ferns, skunk cabbage leaves, salmonberry leaves. And reflections of blue sky on the creek.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
En en fondo de una barranca pequeña pero honda, con un chorrito de agua escondido en la sombra,  un rayo solar se cuela para iluminar unos helechos.
Los helechos: Lonchite, Struthiopteris spicant. Aquí les llamamos helecho de los venados. Y en la esquina a la izquierda, Pteridium aquilinum.
Las hojas grandes son de la linterna de los pantanos, Lisichiton americanus. Las hojas a la derecha son de salmonberry, Rubus spectabilis.
I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.
Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
