But the water is salt.

Brown gull, blue water.

At Brown's Bay.

I was looking through Sibley's Field Guide, trying to see if there were any clues as to which species of gull this is. It's a youngster; that much seems certain. But among the gulls that frequent these coasts, 6 juveniles have brown heads, black bills, brown and beige wings and tail. And that's ignoring the hybrids.

I don't know why I bothered.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
