Made my day. My week!

An oystercatcher! An oystercatcher! It's years since I saw one. And there it was, all alone, walking down the beach poking around the rocks. And it caught a limpet a few metres from where I was sitting on a wet log.

Pics; 5 because they made me so happy:

Red beak, pink legs, and look at that eye!

Caught a big limpet. They hold tightly to the rocks; the oystercatcher has a strong grip.

Little bowl full of limpet meat.

Blurry photo but I love the shadow.

One more photo just because he's such a fun bird.

The sun came out today, unexpectedly. And I found dozens of mushrooms. I'll start processing their photos in the morning.
~~~~~~~~~~
¡Vi un ostrero negro! ¡Un ostrero negro! Hace años que no los he visto. Y hay estaba, solito, caminando en la plays, buscando entre las rocas. Y cuando llegó a unos cuantos metros de donde yo estaba sentada en un tronco, cogió y se comió una lapa.
Las fotos. Cinco, porque me hicieron tan feliz.
  1. Haematopus bachmani. Tiene un pico rojo fuerte, patas color de rosa, y ¡ese ojo! Amarillo con su borde rojo y el centro negro.
  2. Aquí tiene la lapa. Se adhieren firmemente a las rocas pero el ostrero es fuerte y tenaz.
  3. Un platito con carne de lapa.
  4. La foto salió borrosa, pero me gusta la sombra.
  5. Una más. ¡Me encanta este pájaro!
Y hoy salió el sol; algo inesperado. Y pude hallar docenas de hongos. Mañana empiezo a procesar las fotos.
