Yellow, white, green; dealing with November

Different plant strategies for dealing with cold weather. These are growing beside the shore at Oyster Bay.

Apple tree; paint the leaves yellow and show them off.

Pepper-grass: shed leaves and seed, keep only the ghostly shape.

American Searocket, Cakile edentula; last summer's plants shed their seeds and died, now, in mid-November, new plants arise in sheltered spots.

Whatever works.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
