AKA Scentbottle

Paradise Meadows has helpful little signs beside the paths, identifying the various plants alongside, although each one is usually surrounded by several species, and I'm busy now checking leaves and flowers against the scientific names.

This one was easy to identify, though; it stands tall beside its nameplate.

Fragrant white bog-orchid, Platanthera dilatata

It's a resident of wet meadows in alpine zones.

A table on E-Flora puts its average elevation at 1101 metres. Paradise Meadows lies at approximately 1100. And these orchids are plentiful in the open meadow.

The leaves surrounding this one are Menzies' burnet. (I think)

White bog-orchid country.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
