Weather report

The rainy season is here, finally. Rain and fog and more rain; proper fall weather on thisW island. The predominant colour is grey; all other colours are muted, or just plain gone. This morning the house across the street from me was just a darker grey square in the fog. When the sun tries to break through the clouds, it draws sharp tree and bird silhouettes against silvery water.

Sunrise today, 8:10 AM. Sunset, 5:57 PM. 6° now, just after sunset, and dropping; it's not raining at the moment, but the ground is wet. Good weather for ducks. And mushrooms.

Por fin han empezado las lluvias esperadas. Lluvia, neblina, y más lluvia; el clima correcto para el otoño en esta isla. Gris es el color principal; otros colores se apagan o simplemente no aparecen. Esta mañana la casa enfrente, al otro lado de mi casa, apenas marcaba un cuadro gris más oscuro en la niebla. Cuando el sol hace el intento de penetrar las nubes, pinta siluetas de árboles y pájaros sobre un fondo de agua plateada.

El sol salió hoy a las 8:10, y se puso a las 5 con 57 minutos. La temperatura ahora (6:30) está a 6°C y va bajando; ahorita no llueve, pero el suelo está bien mojado. Buen clima para los patos, como aquí decimos. Y para los hongos, también.
