Rainforest greens

And a few more moss photos: wet moss after a rain, growing on old wood beside the river.

On a chunk of log. All very wet, the moss,  the dead leaves, the log. And the river.

Two mosses side by side on a log.

Another, with Cladonia lichen, on a standing Douglas-fir.

And for good measure, here's a fat polypore.

On the cut end of a log. With tips of ferns, showing off their spores on the underside of the fronds.

Ah, this Vancouver Island weather! A bit of sunshine, then rain, rain, rain. Cloudy tomorrow, they say, then more rain. And some snow, for variety. The moss and the trees love it.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
