Paradise Meadows are soggy and boggy, and the plants that live there are water lovers. Some more than others.
Buckbeans, for example; ankle deep in water is how they like it.
Big Pond, Centennial Loop, Paradise Meadows. With buckbeans. |
Buckbeans, Menyanthes trifoliata. |
The flowers are white, starry and furry. They bloom in May to June; I was too late to see them. The seeds are like brown, round beans. They float.
Menzies burnet, Sanguisorba menziesii |
The flowers will be pink to purplish, borne on those tall stalks.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.
Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
