On the rocks

Water and rocks. A recent trip to Elk Falls:

The Campbell River leaves Lower Campbell Lake and winds down to the drop-off. At one time, all this rock was river bed, but the dam and hydroelectric project has diminished it considerably, leaving open rock suitable for exploring. Carefully.

Last pool before the cliff.

A sheer, single-drop fall. 27 metres.

View from the platform along the return trail.

  1. The water is so clear! Our lake is very high. They have had several mill showdowns so maybe they aren't drawing out as much water to make electricity at the dam. Our bridge to shore is actually angling down towards shore. - Margy

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
