Double exposure

A very rainy day. We went to Lee Valley Tools and Ikea, didn't find what we were looking for, and bought a bunch of stuff we weren't. Home again, crawling on a soggy highway, windshield wipers at maximum speed. In a couple of fields, flocks of seagulls sat in stubble-deep water, watching for drowning worms, I think.

At home, I cooked up a batch of rainy day soup; a hambone with a mix of veggies, beans, lentils, dried peas. Delicious!

Then, back to sorting old photos. This one, from December, two years ago, was too good to put away again, unseen. I took it at night, without flash, in a parking lot. It needed a slow shutter, and of course, my hand shook.

Laurie, being twins.

  1. Got home this afternoon, the first half of the trip in pouring rain and the balance in sun/cloud/blue sky mix. Roads were good (#1/#97). Am trying to catch up on some of my blog reading!

Found out they are converting the green belt behind me into 4 lots! Can you believe it? Maybe I'll move to the city after all! That part of the green belt was part of living here!!! Greed, greed, greed.

I wanted to get to Lee Valley while at the coast but didn't make it. Sigh. I get tempted to buy too many things there so it is probably a good thing.

  2. thanks for your helpful answer on my photo problem. I'm trying to figure out why I can't see certain ones, like this one. Did you upload it differently than the others?

  3. Eileen; greed, fueled by our "need" for ever-bigger living spaces.

Country Mouse; I can't figure that out, either. I just checked the html on that post, compared with two others; I see no difference at all.

And no, I uploaded it the same way as all of them.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
