Cheerful

Lifelong favourites, catching a few vagabund rays under the forest cover:

Salal, Gaultheria shallon.

Bracken fern, Pteridium aquilinum.

I've been somewhat under the weather for the last little while. Seen in the distance across a shady forest floor, this fern standing tall, waving "arms" bravely, almost defiantly, lifted my spirits.

Promise

 There will be gooey, deep purple berries. Soon.

Salal flowers, Gaultheria shallon

And the unripe berries.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pronto habrán las frutas de salal, dulces y de color morado intenso.
Fotos: las flores y las frutas todavía no maduras de salal, Gautheria shallon.
