Mushrooms again

 And yet more mushrooms.

These are growing on another alder, this one well rotted, at the foot of the hill where I found yesterday's Winter Oysters. But this stump is still vertical, and I'm seeing the mushrooms from beneath, growing in their original position.

Widely-separated gills, off-centre or no stipe.

I wonder about that "cotton" fluff; fungal parasite, slime mold?

And a couple of metres away; an old conifer log, with stacked Winter Oysters.

These mushrooms have already been damaged by frost; I'll look in the same spot in the fall for new ones, unfrozen.

Y más hongos.

Estos están creciendo en otro aliso, este bien podrido, al pie del cerro donde encontré los hongos Sarcomyxa serotina que subí ayer.  Pero este tronco sigue de pie, y veo los hongos desde abajo, creciendo en la misma posición en que empezaron.

1. Las laminillas están muy separadas, y originan desde un lado del sombrero.
2. ¿Qué será esa "espuma de algodón? ¿Otro hongo, o un moho mucilanigoso?
3. Aquí parece humo.
4. El tronco en que aparecieron. No logré tocar estos.
5. Y en un tronco de un conífero cercano, los mismos hongos, formando una agrupación horizontal.

Estos hongos ya se han congelado; en el próximo otoño los buscaré en el mismo sitio antes de las heladas.
