Mixed flocks

The wind was icy, the sky and sea grey. But the bay was hosting a party.

Oyster Bay, mostly wigeons.

Wigeons.

Wigeons and pintails and a running sandpiper

And a line-up of long-billed dowitchers.

I saw a couple of green-winged teals and a distant merganser. Worth the frozen fingers!

  1. So many birds, how exciting! I don't think I've ever seen dowitchers in person.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
