I seem to have been collecting landscape photos and never posting them. These are from 'way back in March: Seymour Narrows, taken from the highway above the land they cleared a few years back, now up for sale as housing sites; this view may not be open much longer.

| Looking north. The Narrows is the main water route between Vancouver Island and the smaller islands to the east, along the coast of the mainland; it is around 750 meters wide, and 5 km. long. |

Seymour Narrows
Treacherous currents, swirling eddies, and turbulent tide-rips still harass vessels, despite the blasting away in 1958 of the twin peaks of Ripple Rock. Charted in 1792 by Captain George Vancouver, the Narrows has claimed numerous ships and is considered by many seamen the worst hazard to marine navigation on the British Columbia coast.
Province of British Columbia 1966.
They omitted Captain Vancouver's opinion; he called it "one of the vilest stretches of water in the world." That was before they blew up Ripple Rock, but it's still a challenging route. Beautiful, though.
Next: Brewster Lake.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.
Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
