On old wood

Mushrooms on logs. Mushrooms beside logs. Mushrooms deep inside logs. It pays to peer down cracks.

These are from old logs on Tyee Spit.

Shapeless orange fungus squeezed out through cracks in a rotting log.

At the bottom of a deep, narrow crack in a log, a mushroom and lichens avoid the cold wind up top.

Another log, still solid on the outside, shredded inside, with mushrooms.

And on wood chips between the logs along the shore.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hay hongos que crecen encima de troncos viejos. O al lado de los troncos. O dentro de los troncos, bien escondidos adentro. Vale la pena examinar las grietas con cuidado.
Estos hongos crecen en troncos viejos en la lengua de tierra Tyee.
  1. Brotan desde adentro, saliendo en masas sin forma precisa.
  2. Casi en el mero centro del tronco, un hongo y líquenes aprovechan la protección de los vientos.
  3. La madera exterior del tronco sigue sólido y seco, pero en el interior está hecha pedazos; allí crecen honguitos cafés.
  4. Y entre los troncos que bordean la costa, brotan honguitos anaranjados.
I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.
Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
