I had planned to take the camera for a walk today, but then the weather turned — well, normal for this time of year. Stormy. Cold. Wind piles big-leaf maple leaves on the streets; rain soaks the heaps, holding them in place while branches blow down on top. Out in the strait, the waves are white-capped. I decided to stay in and get some work done.
And then, mid-afternoon, I berated myself for my wimpiness, grabbed a spare jacket and the camera, and went to the shore.
Where the world was painted in greys and greyish greens.

I took photos through the windshield, between swipes of the wipers. When I rolled down a side window, the rain sprayed me and the camera; I had to close the window quickly and dry off the camera.

Surf and grass. Black spots in the water are people on surfboards. Who cares if it's cold, when you have a board? |
I got braver and went looking for birds in the rain, hiding the camera under my jacket in between shots. I'll post some of those tomorrow.
Ah winter has arrived in all its gray colors. Soon it will get here. Looking forward to your bird photos!
