Shapes and textures

Tidying up: these are a few leftover photos from last month, taken in a friend's garden when I went to look at mushrooms:

A poppy, on its way to ripen seeds, wearing a fuzzy cap.

Red berries. I''ve forgotten what these are.

Arbutus bark. I love the colours and texture of this tree.

And the arbutus is growing it's own garden! A baby mountain ash.

  1. The red berries look like Cotoneaster
    Very pretty, whatever.

    1. Yes, that's it. I'm used to the cotoneaster that we use as hedges, with tiny leaves. This is a full tree-sized shrub. Thanks!

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
