Little brown bird

I took the camera out for a walk today. A short walk, in a freezing rain, blowing almost horizontally. Out in the water, the waves were white-capped, the only white to be seen anywhere; everything else was blue-grey, blue-black. Too wet for the camera; too wet for my eyes, squinting into the rain. I came home and looked over last month's forgotten photos, from warmer, drier days.

On Baikie Island, I followed this little brown bird, too quick, too well camouflaged to be seen clearly. The camera caught him once or twice.

Roots, blackberry stem and leaves, and the bird, stopping to look at me.

And then he scooted down among the roots and dead leaves and disappeared.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
