Red elderberry, Sambucus racemosa, ssp. pubens |
The flowers will be white, but for now, while they're in bud, they're tinged with pink. And the fruits, tiny drupes, will be bright red.
Background; logging slash, enlivened with the green lights of new elderberry and huckleberry leaves.
My red currant is budding as well. Have high hopes for fruits this year. I don't know if you are aware of the free textbook sites on the web. Wayne and I have used OpenStax for science books and I also found the Open Textbook Library online. They have a very interesting six part series about called "Mountain Motion: The Adventure of Physics." They say, "This book is written for anybody who is curious about nature and motion. Curiosity about how people, animals, things, images and space move leads to many adventures." I just downloaded Volume I. Looks well written and understandable. - Margy
