We finally made it down to a beach for a short walk this morning, at low tide. Stories Beach is flat, and even the rocky areas are easy walking; we were able to explore a few tide pools before Laurie's leg gave out.
Under a couple of rocks, we discovered these multicoloured Stubby isopods:
