The latest installment of Good Planets are Hard to Find is up, at Somewhere in NJ . Great photos, as usual. I especially liked the one of shutters in Amsterdam (windows an added benefit: I love reflecting windows!)
(The photo on this post is a non-stained-glass window in the Augsburg Church in Bella Coola, BC. The red berries and green leaves of the mountain ash outside give it some colour.)
Laura will be posting the next two installments, and then I will take over for February. You can e-mail photos to her at lc-hardy AT comcast DOT net and then, after January 27th, to me at susannah AT dccnet DOT com .
And all the photos, old and new, are archived at the Good Planets Flickr Gallery .

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.
Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!

I visited Bella Coola briefly some 30 years ago. I don't remember it well but I do remember the road down to the town. I also remember we were too chicken to camp in Tweedsmuir park because it was so isolated and there were signs everywhere warning us to beware of bears.
ReplyDeleteWe may head out to Canada's inside passage this summer but it is still in very early planning phase.
I'll be by for good planet next month.
Those signs about bears should be revamped: all they mean is -- Don't leave your garbage out to tempt the bears, and don't try to take close-up photos of cubs; the mothers will object. Quite strongly.
ReplyDeleteI camped out my first summer in Bella Coola, all summer. On a grizzly run. No problem, except once that he chewed on our lawn chair.
I have travelled by ferry up the inside passage twice in recent years. A most beautiful trip. I reccommend it.
I read your blog; beautiful photos. I hope you consider contributing to "Good Planets".
