Those orange boots!

Mallards are good-looking birds, and the males, in season, are brightly coloured. Their orange feet, though, are usually underwater; by some odd chance all the mallard photos I took the other day had them showing off the feet, too.

Male, sleeping.

Another male, awake.

Two males, one female, caught in flight. Showing off those purple speculums, too.

Coming in to land, they look awkward, almost standing upright in the air. It works.

The mountain peak at the far right of the last photo is Mount Doogie Dowler, also known as "Cowboy's Hat". It's over on the BC mainland.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
