Birds on the rocks

Rocky shore, with a few distant birds.

See him?

Getting closer.

It took over 15 minutes to get close enough, stepping softly. One slow step more, and he flew away. A Belted  kingfisher, male.

Bald eagle.

Gull on a rock. Quadra Island across the water.

Peep. I think it's a plover.

At least these were close.  Peep tracks.

More tomorrow, not quite so far away.

A Skywatch post.

Una playa con rocas. Y pájaros en la distancia.
  1. ¿Lo ves?
  2. Me estoy acercando.

  1. Looks like they are all enjoying the tide pools. Low tide, perhaps?

    1. Low tide, and in the sunshine, for a change.

  3. I love how you did this. An interesting foreground with water and mountains in the background, and then move in close to see the birds.

  4. Started out with what you saw. Then you moved in closer so we could see the birds up close and personal. Very nicely done.

  5. I love the first shot....shoreline, rocks, water, mountains and clouds all come together for a great shot...but the birds are the icing on the cake.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
