There's always a heron

Always so far away ...

Distant heron, off Willow Point

When I walked in his direction, he squawked once and left. As they do on these open shores where there's no way to sneak up on them.

At least the camera can zoom in a bit.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Siempre hay una garza. Y siempre está bien lejos. En las fotos: una gran garza azul, Ardea herodias, pescando a marea baja.
Cuando quise acercarme, emitió un graznido, enojada, y se fué. Como siempre lo hacen en estas playas abiertas, donde me es imposible acercarme a escondidas.
Por lo menos, la cámara tiene zoom.
  1. Nice post, Susannah. And some nice photos. The Great Blue Heron is one of my favorite birds!
I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.
Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
