A last nibble of pollen before bed

At dusk in a shady passageway, a few tall daisies still held some of the daylight:

Miniature sun, standing in for old Sol, who had gone into hiding.

On the tallest of them all, so that I had to stand on tiptoe, a lone soldier beetle was gathering a bedtime snack.

Rhagonycha fulva, Common Red Soldier Beetle. Covered with pollen; he's a messy eater.

A cleaner soldier, earlier, near Centennial Park, Boundary Bay. On Astrantia major, pincushion flower.

  1. The macros of the daisies are so clear and beautiful. I enlarged the one of the beetle and you're right - he's a messy eater! But he sure is getting a nice dinner!

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
