I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.
Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!

My dad would love these machines.
ReplyDelete;)
Me again. Your question of Tin Money intrigued me.
ReplyDeleteI found this, an english House of Commons debate from 1696.
It seems that money was still in a transformational state between the intrinsic value of metal, to the virtual value of currency. How fitting really, given my post about virtual consciousness. ;)
So, I'd guess that Tin Money, was a more basic version of dollar currency. Perhaps a barter system?
Jamon;
ReplyDeleteFascinating!
I don't know how relevant a debate from the 17th century is to a medium of exchange in the early 20th, but that site has a wealth of intriguing info.
Thanks!
And your idea of a barter system may be "on the money". :)
