Deep in the Watershed Park, we found this bicycle stunt trail, obviously built by kids; no "official" trail led to it. We only chanced upon it because we had gone looking for mushrooms and removing branches fallen on them during the storm.I didn't know what it was, at first; the end had blown down, and was a mass of broken sticks. But over the next log, it entered a clearing of sorts where a progression of assorted branches and poles, badly knocked together with rusty nails, made a ramp that climbed and swooped, doubled back, jumped gaps, crossed a teeter-totter arrangement, and ended on this narrowing bridge to nowhere, down a single notched pole and into the mud. Well-trampled mud, the entrance to a narrow pathway through the undergrowth. Some kids are using it regularly.
There are some things that a parent/grandparent is happier not knowing about.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.
Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
