What Are Piss Ants?

Notes and photos from wanderings in the Lower Fraser Valley, BC., with a few thrown in from Bella Coola and other BC visits. Favourite spots: Reifel Island, Boundary Bay, Mud Bay, Strathcona, White Rock, Cougar Canyon, etc...
The redwing blackbirds are singing in these trees. With the afternoon sun behind them, we could hear the birds, but only see them when they changed branches.

With or without the birds, this is a stunning photo.
wonderful sky photo, I love shooting through the trees as well
Very nice photo.
Regards and best wishes
I know when I hear the blackbirds that spring is here - that's another few weeks here in southern Vermont. Great shot.
When my grandmother lived in northern California, we used to drive on one particular back road heading to my great aunts. There was a large marsh along the way. It was filled with red wing blackbirds. I always loved passing by and listening to their calls. - Margy
The bare trees look so nice with a view of the sky in the background (and a bird or two!) haven't heard of these, yet.
