Rest stop foragers

Crows and Steller's Jays, unquenchable beggars, hang around highway rest stops; you never know what someone might be wanting to drop off!

I had a bag of peanuts in the car.

"Hurry up with that bag!"

"Well?"

"About time!"

Los cuervos y los arendajos (Cyanocitta stelleri), pordioseros descarados, esperan junto a los áreas de descanso por si alguien trae desperdicios comestibles.

Yo traía una bolsita de cacahuates.

  1. There were some Jays in our local park. We don't see them often so it was special. They looked quite dramatic, pink in the evening light with their crests up. It took a while to identify them. But they were NOTHING! compared to your jays. (I haven't visited in a while . . . . why are you now providing a Spanish translation?

    1. I had family visiting from Mexico, and they asked for a Spanish translation.

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
