It's amazing

... how a few stray rays of sunlight can perk up a rainy bit of town ...

... even with all the wires and posts.

I stopped at the first gap between the houses when the rainbow appeared. I took a few quick photos, then headed for the shore for a clear shot. By the time I'd reached it, less than 4 minutes later, the rainbows had disappeared, and it was raining again.

A Skywatch post.

  1. That one's a beauty! Amazing how they change and even disappear so quickly.

  2. Thanks for sharing the rainbow. Made my evening. Sorry the rainbow disappeared later and was raining but that is nature for you, changes in like seconds/minutes. Have a great week-end.

  3. Funny thing with rainbows is that it is near impossible to tell how far away they are. Whether it is 2 metres in front, or 2 km, they will appear the same size.

    1. Interesting thought. Of course, I knew how far away this one was; 3 km. to the coast of Quadra Island. But the far end of the rainbow, not visible from this vantage point, was 'way down at the end of the island. And yes, it was the same size. I just had never noticed that before. Thanks!

I'm having to moderate all comments because Blogger seems to have a problem notifying me. Sorry about that. I will review them several times daily, though, until this issue is fixed.

Also, I have word verification on, because I found out that not only do I get spam without it, but it gets passed on to anyone commenting in that thread. Not cool!
