Windy Afternoon

Photos taken near Ladner, November 15th.
The wind had been blowing hard for a day and would get stronger that night. We could hardly stand on the dike, and facing into the wind, (cold!) we couldn't breathe. The birds were enjoying it, though. These are probably some variety of sandpiper.
Assorted debris thrown up by the wind and extra high tides, well above the usual high water line.
No leaves left on many trees; these probable starlings were subbing.
Flight patterns: starlings, seagulls and a crow or two.

Storm approaching from the south.

Time to head home.

Some Ten-Year-Old Photos

These were photos taken with the old camera, and with lower-quality film, in 1997.
The difference is noticeable, mostly in lack of definition.
First one here: "Ghost Town" Across from the New Westminster Quay.
2: "River Gods" Looking across the river towards the Quay.
3. "Yellow Tug" Port Royal.
4. "Geese and Wildflowers" Stillcreek, Burnaby, where it joins Burnaby Lake.

Assorted birds

A robin, catching the last rays of a summer evening.
A watchful mother swallow.
Wood duck, male, with mallard, female.
And the guardians of a gate, blending in.
