Of flying ducks and earth-bound YouTube

Ducks overhead at Boundary Bay . . .

Flap, flap, flappity flap

Ed Yong posted an article in NatGeo last week, reporting on studies of birds that fly in V formation. Not only is the location of each bird (specifically, in this post, bald ibises and pelicans) carefully controlled, but so is the precise timing of each flap of a bird's wing.

Ducks do it, too. But around home, they scatter across the sky helter-skelter, each flapping away merrily to his own tune.

About that jellyfish video; YouTube has been refusing to cooperate. I think it doesn't like the program I'm using (Picasa), so I'm starting again from scratch with another program.

Has anyone else had this problem, and what programs are you using to build your videos?

Enough's enough.

I've done a video of one of the new critters, but YouTube won't load it properly. I'm giving up for tonight, and I'll try again in the morning.

:(
