I hope the varied thrush comes back.Susannah Andersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11923063322849781223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30584505.post-76214802178793203272009-02-07T23:50:00.000-08:002009-02-07T23:50:00.000-08:00I'm pretty sure thin wires pose no problem for the...I'm pretty sure thin wires pose no problem for the squirrel to chew through. Hopefully, the metal suet basket will do a better job.

I am excited to see what kind of birds the suet will attract. And of course, the outcome of this wit-match. I saw her there in the summer, but by fall, she had found her way home.

But the cage I meant was one for the suet. I got one, with a latch and a chain, and added wire to attach it to the tree. Now, we'll see if the new squirrel can steal it!Susannah Andersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11923063322849781223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30584505.post-40357874386259891712009-02-07T17:18:00.000-08:002009-02-07T17:18:00.000-08:00We haven't had squirrel problems, but each fall wo...We haven't had squirrel problems, but each fall woodrats start storing up for the winter. They raid my garden, not a good thing. We purchased a Havahart live trap that works really well. They come in several sizes and models, one specific for squirrels. - MargyPowell River Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17580698518291129041noreply@blogger.com
